Tea Time

It’s Time for Tea!

Hosted our October  “Buttons, Baskets and Blessings” Tea.  In addition to the tea, we also had our annual mercantile called “Country Blessing Store” that the ladies purchased goodies; fudge, cookies, apple butter, gift baskets along with some new and gently used items.  All proceeds goes to our church benevolence for the upcoming holiday needs of our community and church families.  This year, we announced and sold our 1st cookbook called “Tea Sisters Favorites” which was a great big hit.  We sold almost all the 100 cookbooks in 2 days – how exciting!  Funds will go directly to the ministry for future teas.  Thank you to all the ladies that attended and purchased items for our benevolence and ministry.  You are truly a blessing!

2015 Tea time will be Saturday, May 2 – A Mother and Daughter tea.  More details will be announced.

Ministry’s Vision:

To provide ladies in the church and community a tea time while incorporating the following aspects that are important to women; Fellowship, Encouragement, Emotional Support & Sponsorship, Prayer Time, Bible Study, Spiritual Development, Health & Well Being, Mentoring and Life Skills.

About the Ministry:

Ministry committee includes: Chairperson; Patty Gibson, Deb Ayers, Connie Pannell, and Ruth Vernon.

The ministry began its planning in 2006 after being inspired when a group of friends enjoyed the afternoon visiting a local tea shop. It was such an encouraging time together that the now formed committee felt lead to begin this ministry and offer it to the ladies in the church as well as friends and community. Our Tea Times are quarterly and on Saturday afternoons from 2-3:30 pm. The program includes a spiritual speaker, tea trivia, fellowship, food, and music.

Past Teas : 2007-2012

Over the last several years, we’ve had theme teas such as: “Southern Belle“, “Harvest Pumpkin & Spice“,  “Love Thy Neighbor“,  “Enchanted Garden“,  “Grandma’s Heirloom”,  “Winter Wonderland“,  “Mother & Daughter Banquet“,  ”Hawaiian Luau”,  “Country Christmas”,  “Purses, Polka-Dots, Ribbons & Bows”,  “Breakfast at Tiffanys”,  “Celtic Tea”,  “Books, Tea & Thee”, “Country Fair Tea”,  “Healthy Heart Tea” , “Celebrating Life Tea”, “Lavender & Lace” & “Buttons, Baskets & Blessings”.  Each of these teas were unique as their names; encouraging devotions, delicious food and warm conversations.  Our desire is for every lady to leave being blessed by the message and refreshed mentally and spiritually.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed;

her husband also, and he praises her.”
